February is Hot Hot Hot ... in many ways & many days in our Southern Zone of Costa Rica

Love it ... or not ... Envision 2016 and all that it brings has arrived once again near Uvita. Personally, I've met some amazing souls who have ventured down here because of Envision ... and have heard a fascinating melange of tales. Enjoy the show and as always, trust in God and tie your horses.

Last weekend I was enticed to do the Zipline Tour at Hacienda Baru and though totally out of my comfort zone and quite apprehensive ... it was a blast!!!!

HELP WANTED - CAREGIVERS

I am seeking help to provide care for my 93 year old father. He is moving soon to Costa Rica and we will be hiring people to take care of him around the clock. His main needs are companionship, cueing for personal care, and cooking. We plan to split the work into three shifts - one will be overnight and the other two will split up the daytime hours. The ability to speak at least some English is a must. A background in work with the elderly would be a plus. My Dad loves to chat and can be a lively conversationalist, but he has little short term memory. Individuals and couples will be considered. Please call 8390-8319 and ask for Vani or send your information to vanigreene@mac.com

I would love to connect with people who are in need of learning how to make the trek by bus to Nicaragua to renew the visa..I used to make trips to Panama but now I hear that's not possible without a plane ticket. So perhaps you are up to learn a new route or can teach me one that you already know. My visa doesn't expire until April 20th but I was thinking of going in March if that works for you. Please get in touch....when I'm on the farm texting is a better way to get ahold of me. THANKS!

FEATURED PROPERTY OF THE WEEK

The property is nestled in the Rio Chirripo valley at an elevation of 1150 meters (3773 feet). It is about 20-30 minutes from San Isidro del General where there is a weekly market with lots of organic produce to purchase. It is about 1 hour to beautiful beaches. The property borders Rio Chirripo along its entire length (about 180 meters).
This is an ideal property for several families or community who wish to live in eternal springtime temperatures on a property which has been free of chemicals for 12+ years, and Biodynamic for 8 years.
There are six houses, two cabins, a covered compost area, chicken shed with two pastures, goat /worm house with 7 goat pastures (included are 4 goats and 10 chickens), four Biodigestors, Zantrex solar/wind system with grid tie (hydro generator is on site and will be connected), two steel storage sheds plus one other outside bodega, many tools including a shredder. If animal husbandry is not a desired pursuit, the existing pastures can easily be converted into house sites. Houses can be bare or with some appliances such as fridge. Four houses and both cabins are screened. Water is from mountain springs for people, and double filtered creek water for plants and animals. Hot water is gas or solar heated. The Biodigestors mean no septic tank maintenance, with the added benefit of gas for cooking.
There are many fruit trees. Oranges, Sweet Lemons, Limes, Banana, Cas, Guava, Water Apple, Plantain, Cacao, Myrtle Berry, Mulberry, plus Pineapples, Red and Black Raspberries.
There is a covered Yoga/Qi Gong deck looking at Mt Chirripo (size about 30 ft diameter).
The property has recently been used as a holistic health center, so that route could also be pursued by new owners.
Total house areas about 5700 square feet (530 M2), plus covered decks of 570 square feet (53 M2) This magical & unique property of 10 acres with 6 houses and 2 cabins has been drastically transformed over the last few years and is offered now for only $295,000.
