Howdy Folks! The past couple of years i've had a terrible time producing sweet potatoes(and green beans), thanks to a pesky bird called grey headed chachalaca...or pajuila. This bird is notorious for wiping out bean fields, too. I have discovered that VHS tape, strung up along the rows, is a strong deterrent for (at least) this pest. So: this is a tip for PZ neighbors who have this problem. Anyone who has old VHS tapes to throw out; DON'T! I would also apreciate anyone bringing me some, too. Can leave for me at Colibrís Corner, or with me direct: Wade Moore, Finca Pasiflora, 4th booth up in the orgánico corner in the big feria. Cheers! email@example.com
Voting for expats made easy and free ( I thought this information would be of interest to all of us voting in upcoming US elections:)
There is a US government agency called the Federal Voters Assistance Program - fvap.gov. They are able to accept completed and signed emailed ballots electronically and then fax them to your registrar for free at firstname.lastname@example.org. No need to go through the trouble and expense of mailing or faxing them from Costa Rica if your local registrar does not directly accept emailed voting forms since most still do not.

Looking to exchange with nice English speaking couple We are looking for a couple who would like to come to San Jose once in a while to stay and take care of our 4 bedroom B&B in Escazu, and Louie our adorable himalayan cat. We offer 30% of the income and a free room. We are a Costa Rican - Austrian couple and due to our souvenir business we need to travel around the country several times a year, for a period of 3 to 10 days at a time. In our B&B we offer personalized service, therefore we prefer a friendly, outgoing couple who enjoy meeting people and who would be willing to prepare breakfast for our guests if required (breakfast is not automatically included in the price). We have a cleaning lady who comes to do the rooms when needed, so you will not have to clean or do the rooms.
