NEW MEDICAL UPDATE FOR MARGUERITE!

NEW MEDICAL UPDATE FOR MARGUERITE!

She had her second-month follow up appointment last Friday, and finally with one of the doctors who attended her surgery. He confirmed what a lot of us suspected, which is that the painful, swollen area is NOT just “damaged muscle” from the surgery; it is a series of lumps that feel like one big one, and it is cancer.

He explained that the ducts in the breast are like tree branches that spread out, and these have been penetrated by the cancer where it has escaped. This is called “Invasive Duct Carcinoma”. It means cancer cells are free to roam and land anywhere in her body. This is the “bad” news.

The “good” or hopeful news is that he is amazed that she has put weight back on, is stronger, and feels good enough that she is even cutting hair again, but not more than one a day...and especially that she has NO other symptoms of deterioration.

She asked him directly how long she has to live, and he answered that he had no idea. He explained that he had never encountered or heard of anyone who chose not to do chemo/radiation after surgery, and given how good she seems to be doing, that he had no one to compare her to. He recommended she go to the hospital on Tuesday at 7:30 am, to try to catch the main surgeon and request a TAC (scan) to see if/where the cancer may have spread.

The main issue is that since she is not a member of the Caja, she must pay for any services done there or at local clinics.

And please hear this....while Marguerite is profoundly grateful and touched to her soul for your generosity that is keeping her going every single day, she does not want pity or any drama around this. She is extremely sensitive to emotional energy now and strives to stay calm, connected, and in the flow of the present moment where unlimited possibilities can occur beyond what we and all the experts “know” or can even imagine.

This is why you don't see her around much...it is too taxing in town with the heat, the noise and vibes, and with so many people coming up and asking “Ohhhh, how are you?”, and telling her what she should do. Please wait to be asked and if she doesn't ask you for suggestions, keep it to yourself....and if you see her, really look at her, and give her feedback about how she actually seems to you right then. And leave it at that. She knows you mean well, but what is most helpful is to just be present with her.
