20 minutes from Uvita, Bamboo House is octagonal with bamboo framing and straw wattle walls and is surrounded by privacy and peace. The fully equipped open-air kitchen overlooks a river valley still largely unpopulated, dotted by distant cattle and swathes of primary jungle forest. The hills behind the house are planted with pineapples and trees bearing plantains, lemons, guanabanas, and papayas. Capuchin and howler monkeys, white-nose coatis, collared peccaries, tayras, and a variety of birds are frequent visitors to nearby trees and bushes. Overhead fans, abundant breezes, and a design that encourages air circulation provide natural cooling.
