For the most part, our beloved Southern Zone was spared the worst of Otto ... although many in the Osa are cut off still. Our northern neighbors were far less fortunate, and many lost homes and some lives, and some, all their possessions.

Hurricane Otto Donation Collection
The Perez Zeledon International Women's Club (PZIWC) will be selling our cookbook, There's a Frog in My Soup, and the Dealing with Death, Burial and Cremation in Costa Rica booklet on Thursday Dec. 1 and Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016 at the San Isidro feria. The sale of these books will supplement our ongoing project of buying books and shelves to donate reading libraries to some of the small, rural elementary schools in Perez Zeledon. This also provides us with an opportunity to assist the Red Cross in collecting canned goods, dry goods, and money donations to assist those in Costa Rica who have been impacted by Hurricane Otto. There has been an outpouring of giving from the Tico Community, at the Red Cross. Let's do our part, and give back, to the Country we also call home. So bring your canned good and dry goods and we will have boxes to collect the donations. The boxes will be delivered to the Red Cross at end of day.
