Here is some sage advice if you US passport is expiring sometime soon. And a good thing for all to know is often you will be denied entry into a country (Costa Rica & Panama included sometimes) if you have less than 6 months on your passport til it expires. Not a fun thing to find out at the border! Also those with damaged passports are often denied entry also.
